PURPOSE:To obtain a photo-sensitive recording medium of an erasable or rewritable heat mode, having excellent storability, a high reading-out S/N ratio, and lesser deterioration of erasability and reducibility, by using a photo absorptive dye of a low melting point in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In a photo-sensitive recording medium in which a recording layer containing a photo absorptive dye is formed on a base material (e.g., glass, ceramic, various resins, etc.) and pits erasable by heat or light are formed by deforming the recording layer by irradiation of recording light for recording, a photo absorptive dye having a melting point of 130 deg.C or lower, preferably of 50-130 deg.C, is used, e.g., solvent yellow-98(Color Index) having a melting point of 107 deg.C. Also, the recording layer is preferably formed with a thermoplastic resin compatible with the dye. |
