PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition having preventing action on arteriosclerotic diseases, facilitating intake of highly unsaturated fatty acids without causing a fishy smell even in long-term preservation, comprising purified aquatic fats and oils containing a highly unsaturated fatty acid and a clove oil. CONSTITUTION: Purified aquatic fats and oils such as a purified tuna oil containing 23wt.% docosahexaenoic acid(DHA) and 4wt.% eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) as highly unsaturated fatty acids are mixed with 0.002wt.% of a clove oil and optionally tocopherol, an extract of tea, BHA(butylhydroxyanisole), BHT(butylhydroxytoluene), citric acid, ascorbic acid or an extract of Liriope platyphylla to give the objective aquatic fat and oil composition extremely suppressing occurrence of a fishy smell, providing various foods and beverages produced by addition of the composition, suppressing occurrence of a fishy smell even in long-term preservation and facilitating intake of highly unsaturated fatty acids having preventing action on arteriosclerotic diseases. |
