PURPOSE: To improve sinterability while maintaining electrical charac-teristics comparable to those of a conventional material and to obtain a high density sintered compact by firing at a low temp. CONSTITUTION: A compact contg. perovskite type multiple oxide powder contg. at least a group IIIa element of the Periodic Table, Cr and at least one kind of alkaline earth metal selected from among Ca, Ba, Sr and Mg as metallic elements is fired at 1,300-1,700 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere to produce electrically conductive ceramics. In this method, Mn, Fe, Ni or Co is substd. for Cr in the surface of the multiple oxide powder before firing so that the amt. of Cr in the surface of the powder is made smaller than that in the interior of the powder. |
