PURPOSE:To obtain a coated carrier for electrophotography which is easy to produce, has high resistance to impact and abrasion and does not cause toner filming by sticking and crosslinking a coated carrier, fine particles of a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene and a crosslinking agent on the surface of a core material. CONSTITUTION:A coating material is prepd. preferably by dispersing fine particles of <=1mum diameter of a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene in water, and a crosslinking agent is preferably polyamine such as hexamethylene diamine carbamate, tetraethyl triamine or the like or polyol such as hydroquinone. Glass balls, sand, nickel particles, iron powder, steel balls, etc. of 20-1,000mum average grain sizes are used for a carrier core material. A coated carrier consisting of the carrier core material and a resin layer coating the surface of said core material is produced by dip coating or spray coating the aq. dispersion of the copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene on the carrier core material, heating and drying the same at 50- 70 deg.C and crosslinking the same for 20-30min at ordinary tem. -200 deg.C. |
