PURPOSE: To display example sentences, group by group, in the decreasing order of similarity and in an easy-to-understand state by emphasizing ranges corresponding to respective groups of example sentences in different colors by the groups and displaying the example sentences belonging to the respective groups. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 1 executes a program on a memory by using data on the memory 2 and data in a translation example sentence base 4. The memory 2 is stored with tables, etc. An input/output device 3 is used to input a user's indication to the program and display the execution result of the program. The translation example sentence base 4 store past translation example sentences. Then all the translation example sentences in the translation example sentence base 4 are compared with an input Japanese sentence to extract similar translation example sentences. Then the detected similar translation example sentences are grouped. The input sentence is displayed, the ranges where similar sentences at the root of each example sentence group matches it is emphasized in a different color by the groups, and the respective example sentences in each group are displayed according to a user's indication. |
