PURPOSE: To reduce waste of processing capacity by suppressing the processing capacity for error correction low. CONSTITUTION: An audio block subject to high efficiency coding is obtained from audio data of a prescribed number of audio packets to which an error correction code is added in which correction processing is repeated till no error exists through a varied threshold level and the audio block is decoded by a decoder 27 to obtain a digital audio (PCM) signal. Stop means 24, 26 stops acquisition of audio data and error correction processing by an audio packet error correction code for a received audio packet for a prescribed period when an error correction processing section 25 by using the audio packet error correction code detects an error in excess of the error correction capacity. |
