The members of the group are 1,5-Dimethyl-6,7-dioxabicyclo ¢3.2.1! -octane having the general formula and 1,5-Dimethyl-6,7-diazobicyclo ¢3.2.1! -oct-6-ene having the formula They are analogs of the western and southern pine beetle naturalpheromone, frontalin. They are useful for controlling the multiplication of these harmful insects and for limiting infestation of wooded areas by them.</p> |
