PURPOSE:To keep the originals, which are inserted and set in an automatic original feeder, free from damage, by providing a locking mechanism which locks the automatic original feeder selectively and operating the locking mechanism during the use of the automatic original feeder so as to make the disengagement of said feeder from the body of a copying device impossible. CONSTITUTION:A driving roll 64, a separating roll 66, and a front roll 69 are driven to convey laminated originals between the roll 66 and a pressure plate 67 in accordance with the signal detected with an insertion sensor 63. The driving of the rolls 64, 66, 69 is stopped upon lapse of a prescribed time after a sensor 68 for detecting the original detects are preceding end of the original so that the forward end of the original is positioned between the roll 69 and a sensor 70 for detecting the original. The operator operates a start switch 72 to drive the rolls 64, 66, 69 again, thereby feeding the 1st sheet of the original through the sensor 70 to an exposing part 3. The preceding end of the next 2nd sheet of the original is positioned between the roll 69 and the sensor 70. The 2nd sheet of the original is fed to the part 3 by driving the rolls 64, 66, 69 with the signal for end of the copying of the original. Thereafter, the laminated originals are automatically separated and are fed by each sheet with the rolls of which the driving is controlled in the same way as mentioned above. |
