PURPOSE: To facilitate obtaining of high resolution by reducing a dot diameter to be recorded without deteriorating printing qulaity by a method wherein an ink accepting layer containing alumina hydrate is provided on a base material, and water repellent is added to the ink accepting layer. CONSTITUTION: Pseudo boehmite (Al2 O3 .nH2 O, n=1-1.5) which fixes sufficiently by absorbing pigment is proferable as alumina hydrate, and average pore radius is preferably 3-10nm. In order to form a porous alumina hydrate layer on a base material, a binder and a solvent are added thereto to make sol-like coating solution, which is applied to the base material and dried. As the binder, starch material, its deformed material, etc., can be used. As thickness of the alumina hydrate, 5-100μm is generally preferably adopted. As the water expellent, organic fluoro-compound is preferable, and fluorine-contained acrylic resins are specifically preferable. As a method for adding the water repellent to the ink accepting layer, a method for adding it into the coating solution in forming the ink accepting layer is convenient. |
