PURPOSE:To eliminate difficulty in observing the display during the map updating, by automatically switching the running position on a display unit in correspondence with the switching of a map, and displaying only the running position of a vehicle on the display unit. CONSTITUTION:In a vehicle running position dispaly device, the following components are provided: a map switching device 5, which switches a map based on a switching instruction from a keyboard 33; a map switching detecting part 28, which detects the switching of the map based on the switching instruction from the keyboard 33; and a corrected coordinate forming circuit 32, which corrects the coordinates of the vehicle running position on a display unit 9 based on the contents of the output from the map switching detecting part 28 so as to correspond to the switched map. In response to the map switching, the running position on the display unit 9 is automatically switched, and only the running position of the vehicle is displayed on the display unit 9. |
