PURPOSE:To prevent aging deterioration of head characteristics and to extend the life of the head, by using a specified NiMnO2 for the base and ''Sendust'' higher in satd. magnetic flux density for the metallic soft magnetic film, and soldering a protective plate with the magnetic film using glass, and using glass soldering for forming an operation gap, etc. CONSTITUTION:NiMnO2 type oxide, contg. Al2O3 or not, is sintered by the hydraulic hot pressing to give dense NiMnO2 having a NaCl type crystalline structure. The nonmagnetic base 15 is made of this dense NiMnO2, the ''Sendust'' film 16 is formed on he base 15, and further, a glass layer 18 is attached onto the film 16 by melting the glass. On the other hand, the melt attached glass 18 is formed on he protective plate 17, preferably made of the same material as the base 15, and both layers 18 are melt attached to form core blocks 19, 19'. A coil window 20 is formed through the block 19', a melt attached glass film 22 and a gap spacer film 21, such as SiO2 film, are formed, then both cores 19, 19'are butted and subjected to a prescribed working to obtain a magnetic head. The magnetic head thus obtained is higher than conventional ones in coercive force, superior in abrasion resistance, long in life, and suitable for VTR. |
