PURPOSE:To prevent a crosstalk of a residual recording signal, by using one and the other of a pair of magnetic heads whose azimuth angles are mutually in an image relation, for erasing use, and recording and reproducing use, respectively, and also making gap width of an erasing head larger than that of a recording and reproducing head. CONSTITUTION:A pair of magnetic heads 10a, 10b having recording and reproducing gaps 20a, 20b whose azimuth angles are mutually in an image relation and whose characteristics are entirely equal are placed adjacently at an azimuth angle of + or -alpha deg.. For instance, in case when it is desired to record a new picture signal in a recorded track by one magnetic head 10a, it is recorded in the recorded track by the other magnetic head 10b, and when reproducing it, it is reproduced at the same szimuth angle as recording. Also, gap width W1 of an erasing head is made larger than gap width W2 of a recording and reproducing head. In this way, a crosstalk to a signal before rewriting, which remains in both side parts of a track can be prevented, and accuracy of tracking can be lightened. |
