PURPOSE:To continue easily the function of an EC card itself, by using an irreversible memory to heighten the secrecy keeping ability for clearing change, and by replacing only the said irreversible memory. CONSTITUTION:An IC card is connected to a terminal device 9 which can connect the IC card. The connected IC card main body 1 receives the information of minimum charge necessary for this service through an interface 2, and it is read together with the amount of money, which can be cleared and stored in an irreversible memory 4, by a memory reading circuit 5. If the amount of momey stored in the irreversible memory 4 exceeds a the minimum necessary charge, a microprocessor performs a processing for authorizing the service, and the authorization information is transmitted to the terminal device 9 through the interface 2. If the service is started to be given, the amount of charge to be collected for each service unit is sent to the card main body 1 through the interface 2. In the card main body 1, a destroying circuit 6 for a memory destroys an information bit in the irreversible memory 4 for a specified unit. |
