PURPOSE:To apply decorations due to light emitting to articles for interior decorations, dress and its ornaments, handicraft, etc. by forming plural projection parts projected from the external peripheral of an optical fiber in the diameter direction with optional intervals to each other along the longitudinal direction of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 1 is formed by a core 2 made of plastic e.g. a clad 3 and a protective coat layer 4 covering the pheriphery of the core 2 and clad 3. Annular members 5 are formed on the external periphery of the protective coat layer 4 as the projection parts projected in the diameter direction of the fiber with the prescribed intervals along the longitudinal direction of the fiber. The optical fibers having said constitution can be applied easily to fiber materials at the production and working of articles for interior decorations, dress and its ornaments, handicraft, etc. |
