PURPOSE:To reduce ripple current and voltage by alternately or simultaneously opening or closing two semiconductor switches in response to the voltage of a power source to switch the operations of a full-wave double voltage rectification and a step-up chopper. CONSTITUTION:In the period while the voltage of an AC power source 11 is lower than the reference voltage or the charged voltages of condensers 18, 22, a voltage conversion step-up chopper of an inductance 19 is operated due to ON or OFF of semiconductor switches 16, 20, and the condensers 18, 22 are charged. In the period while the voltage of an AC power source 11 is higher than the reference voltage or the charged voltages of the condensers 18, 22, the condensers 18, 22 are charged by the switches 16, 20 to a value in the vicinity of the peak value of the voltage of the power source 11, and the sum becomes double of the peak value, i.e., the couble voltage rectification. |
