PURPOSE:To obtain minute magnet particles having small particle bodies and considerably excellent magnetic properties, by selecting at least one kind of an element from rare-earth elements, Misch metal or the mixture thereof, and by forming magnet particles therefrom in the surface layer on iron oxide. CONSTITUTION:An iron compd. in turned into iron oxide and further into gammaFe2 O3, and a layer of at least one kind of rare earth element selected from Gd, Tb, Sm, Misch metal on mixtures thereof is formed on the surface of said gammaFe2O3 at 250-300 deg.C when said layer is to be formed, the material for said layer is adsorbed, diffused, dissolved as a solid solution, on partly substituted to said gammaFe2O3 layer, thereby particles having high magnetic properties and being suitable for a magnetic tape and disc can be obtained. |
