<p>Process comprises prepn. of a dilute acid soln. at 80-100 deg.C over 1-3 hrs., contg. at least 1 protein and a coloured prosthetic gp. e.g. blood globules, at a concn. of 5-30 g/l, water, and an acid such as H2SO4, of pH 0.5-5. A ppte P1 contains most of the prosthetic gp(s)., and physical sepn. increases the pH of the liq. phase to correspond to the min. protein solubility, forming a ppte. P2 rich in protein and low in salt. - This is separated from the new liq. phase to give conc. protein. The P1 is diluted in water to dissolve some of the proteins, the resulting liq. phase being then sepd. from the new solid phase P3 to recover further amts. of protein, this operation being repeated if necessary.</p> |
