PURPOSE:To obtain stably the titled granular aromatic polyester polycarbonate having a high bulk density and uniform grain diameter, by feeding a solution of the aromatic polyester polycarbonate in methylene chloride to a granulation tank in which an aqueous slurry containing the granular polymer is circulated, and evaporating the methylene chloride. CONSTITUTION:A solution of polyester polycarbonate in methylene chloride obtained by polymerizing a dihydroxydiaryl compound with terephthaloyl chloride and/or isophthaloyl chloride and phosgene in the presence of water, methylene chloride and an acid binder is fed continuously from an introductory pipe 3 for the polymer solution into a granulation tank 1. An aqueous slurry, containing the granular polymer and taken out of an outlet pipe 6 is pulverized in a wet pulverizer 7, and fed through an introductory pipe 8 for circulating the aqueous slurry to the granulation tank 1. The methylene chloride is then evaporated while keeping the suspension state in the granulation tank 1 to give the aimed granular polymer having 0.3-0.7g/cm<3> bulk density. |
