PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium improved in strength of a coated film, by forming a magnetic layer consisting of a binder contg. a mixture of specified 2 components cured by radiation and magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The binder comprises the first binder component having >=2 radiosensitive double bonds in one molecule and a sulfonic acid metal salt, too, and the second binder component having >=2 radiosensitive double bonds in one molecule and nosulfonic acid metal salt each mixed in 80:20-20:80 weight ratio. The magnetic recording medium comprises said binder and the magnetic powder as main components, and the binder has been cured by irradiation of radiation. As the first binder component, e.g., a polyester type polyurethane is used having polyester molecule unit chains extended by the medium of urethane bonds. As the second component, e.g., acrylic compds. are used. |
