Device for processing modelling waxes

A handpiece for application of wax has a storage chamber (6) for liquid wax (11) in its head region, the chamber being electrically heatable and in flow connection via an inflow channel (12) to an exchangeable modelling tip (4). The metering device provided for application of wax is a pin (18) which is forced by a restoring spring (20) into a position of rest determined by a stop, in which position of rest a shoulder (19) terminates a passage opening (16) for the pin (18) in the circumferential wall (15) of the storage container (6). In the depressed position of the pin (18) the shoulder (19) is lifted off the passage opening (16) and either air is supplied to the storage chamber (6) on the outer circumference of the pin (18), so that the liquid wax (11) can run out at the modelling tip (4) under the action of gravity, or else the air cushion (17) is subjected to pressure above the liquid wax (11), so that the wax is discharged due to overpressure. The pin (18) is diametrically opposite the modelling tip (4), which points downwards during operation, in a region of the storage chamber (6) in which there is no wax (11) in the operative position of the handpiece and in which pressure can be simply exerted with the index finger in an ergonomically favourable way. <IMAGE>
