A device for rowing in a forward-facing position is created which in particular enables inexperienced persons to avoid collisions, requires no previous experience in the correct and in particular synchronous operation of conventional oars, is simple in its construction and permits transformation of manual driving force into propulsion and thus a high efficiency.
