Process for purifying acyltransferase, use thereof and assay composition which contains the purified enzyme

A process for purifying acyltransferase using conventional precipitation methods and chromatographic methods is described and entails carrying out as further purification step an affinity chromatography on a solid matrix coupled to amethopterin, folic acid or folic acid derivatives. Also disclosed are the use of the purified acyltransferase for the qualitative and quantitative determination of enzymes, substrates and inhibitors, and an assay composition which, besides substrates and auxiliary enzymes, contains purified acyltransferase.
