In a process and an arrangement for the fastening of a plurality of yarns (2) to be wound on a winding body (1), the following process steps are necessary: a) before the winding operation, the fixing of the individual yarns (2) to the circumference of a first yarn holder (5) mounted on a shaft (4) at the end of the winding body (1); b) the winding of the winding body (1) by means of an annular yarn eyelet (3) which moves to and fro; c) after the winding operation, the fixing of the individual yarns (2), running between the winding body (1) and the bobbins, first to the circumference of the first yarn holder (5) and thereafter to the circumference of a second yarn holder (6), connected releasably to the first yarn holder, by overrunning the annular yarn eyelet (3) by way of the two yarn holders; d) the severing of the yarns (2) between the first yarn holder (5) and the second yarn holder (6), and e) the release of the second yarn holder (6) together with the yarns (6) running off from the bobbins from the first yarn holder (5). What is described, furthermore, is the yarn holder (5, 6) consisting of a two-part sleeve (10, 11), between the parts of which intended for clamping the yarns (2) clamping arrangements in the form of spring-wire curves (8) are clamped.
