The device for detecting temperature in order to save energy consists of a sensor head and a measuring element arranged thereon. A sensor tube which is connected with its other end to a housing is applied to the sensor head. An electrical circuit for measuring temperature and for presetting a selected final temperature is contained in the housing. When the final temperature is reached, a signal generator is driven which indicates that the temperature measured by the sensor head has been reached. <IMAGE>
