The invention relates to a device for the inductive heating of workpieces, especially tubes. A plurality of inductors are provided for heating, which are parts of individual tuned circuits which are supplied with power from a common converter. The power supply to each individual inductor can be disconnected corresponding to the detected temperature, the medium-frequency voltage of the converter being reduced corresponding to the expected reduced power consumption, or the converter being disconnected. When the individual inductors are connected, previous disconnection of the converter is likewise necessary. <IMAGE>
