PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a track retrieval device which can suppress the disturbance of a focus error signal even when a light beam crosses a recording track and also can accurately move an optical head. SOLUTION: At the time of follow-up control to a recording track, a controller 7 sets the offset valueδa for the follow-up control to a focus control circuit 5. When the movement of the recording track is controlled, the offset valueδb for the movement control is set. Thereby, the focus error signal received from an optical head 2 is offset based on the offset valueδa andδb and used for the focus control in the circuit 5.
