PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material free of residual dye stains and improved in stability against time lapse and safelight resistance and high in sensitivity and to provide its X-ray photographing and processing methods by adding a specified spectrally sensitizing dye. SOLUTION: This photosensitive material contains at least one kind of the spectrally sensitizing dye represented by the formula in which each of R1 and R3 is a substituted lower alkyl group with one of them substituted by a hydrophilic group and the other substituted by an electron withdrawing group; R2 is an optionally substituted alkyl group having at least 2C atoms; each of Z1 -Z4 is an H atom or a substituent and the sum ofσp of each group is at least 0.9 and at least one of them combines through a sulfonyl group with a benzimidazole ring; X1 is a counter ion necessary to neutralize an intramolecular charge; and (n) is 1 or 2 and, when an intramolecular salt is formed, (n) is 1.
