Forced draught boiler - has fan driven by IC engine, whose waste heat is transmitted to boiler

The boiler with burner has a power-driven fan supplying the combustion air, the power being provided by an internal-combustion engine. The waste heat is transmitted from the engine to the boiler, typically via a heat-exchanger in its exhaust and/or cooling water circuit. The engine can also be so mounted that the fan draws air in over it. The engine exhaust can be arranged to discharge into the boiler firebox and the engine can be a water-cooled gas engine.
