Electronic payment method for services

The payment method uses a pre-payment card (20) carried by the service user, incorporating a memory with a number of memory locations, with pre-payment data received when the card is inserted in a first terminal and corresponding cancellation of the service charge amount when the card is inserted in a second terminal. The internal memory holding the pre-payment data is used to transfer a pre-payment corresponding to the service charge to a second memory, under control of a miniature terminal (2) carried by the card user, with only the pre-payment in the second memory available to the service provider.
