PURPOSE:To improve pocket-, foam metal-, paste-, and press-type nickel electrode so as to have advantage of easy active mass filling and similar discharge performance and life to sintered-type electrode by allowing to stand a mixture obtained by first mixing nickel and cobalt to nickel hydroxide and next wetting them with water. CONSTITUTION:For example, in a paste-type nickel electrode, screened nickel hydroxide powder, carbonyl nickel powder, graphite, acrylonitrile-vinyl chloride copolymer fiber, and carbonyl cobalt powder are mixed, and carboxymethylcellulose solution is added to this mixture to prepare paste. After allowing to stand at room temperature, this paste is applied on the both surfaces of a core material to form an electrode, then the electrodes are assembled into a battery. |
