PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacturing work of a plate body for a lead storage battery without causing any short circuit of the side parts and bottom part, any deterioration of the liquid permeability and any separation of the electrode body by successively providing holes in the side parts and the bottom part of an electrode plate, and applying a synthetic resin along the holes before it is dried, being followed by fusing separators to both surfaces of the parts of the electrode plate to which the synthetic resin is applied. CONSTITUTION:After a number of holes 2 are successively provided in the side parts and the bottom part of an electrode plate 1, a synthetic resin is applied along the holes 2 in such a thickness as to fill the holes 2 with the resin, then dried. Next, separators 3 having a slightly larger area than the electrode plate 1 are fused to both surfaces of parts 4 of the electrode plate 1 to which the resin is applied by high-frequency sewing machine fusion, heat press fusion or the like, thereby making a plate body 5. The symbol 4a represents a part formed by fusing the separator 3 to the part 4 of the electrode plate 1 to which the resin is applied. As a result, any short circuit of the side parts and the bottom part of the plate body 5 can be prevented. |
