<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for trial cutting and thereby to enable quick entering into regular cutting operation, by the arrangement that will project on a display a shape pattern measured from a prototype model of a workpiece to be machined as well as the current position of the cutting tool, whereby the position of the tool is controlled by visual check of the projected image. CONSTITUTION:Three-dimensional shape data of a prototype model representing the accurate contour for a workpiece to be machined are stored in a computer. And the current vertical and horizontal variations of the position of each cutting tool with reference to each reference line and the tool dimensions are also stored. Then comparison calculation between the data of the tool and the data of the prototype model stored in the computer 10 is made to project on a display 26 through a graphic conversion circuit 24 a cross sectional pattern of the prototype model or the drawing of the prototype and the current position of the designated tool and also to calculate the movement of the tool from the data of the prototype model, the positional variances of the tool, and its dimensions, to output commands for correcting the axes of the tool. The position of the tool is thus corrected by visual check, so that quick entering into regular opration is enabled.</p> |
