The invention relates to an electrical immersion-bath heater having an electrical heating insert which is at least partially surrounded by a protection device which is connected to the earth conductor and consists of electrically conductive material. Such immerson-bath heaters are used for tempering fluids of highly varied constitution, especially for heating fluids whose precise temperature setting is important for the sequence of processes controlled by the fluid. Photographic developing solutions should be mentioned as an example here. The immersion-bath heater according to the invention is distinguished by an electrically conductive outer tubular jacket, which is insulated from the electrical protection device. As a result of the insulated arrangement of this tubular jacket, metal depositions and/or pitting on the tubular jacket are prevented, as occured in the past in known immersion-bath heaters having a metallic tubular jacket. <IMAGE>
