A base plate (1) has frame stops (2) which project on its underside and form a right angle and can be placed against the inner corner of a window frame (3). A cross-cut saw unit (5) with a circular saw blade (7) is guided in a vertically movable manner relative to the base plate (1). The glass strip (13) to be sawn off is inserted through a guide channel (12) of the base plate (1) until it is supported with its end on the opposite inner corner of the frame.
