PURPOSE:To highly efficiently perform scraping works with appropriate melt scraping amounts according to the kind of flaws, by installing a torch and projector to a traverse carriage mounted on a running truck through an elevating arm and by operating the torch in accordance with a flaw mark detect signal outputted from a camera device. CONSTITUTION:A camera device 29 is installed above a traverse carriage 11 mounted on a running truck 6 which runs along a bed 1 and flow marks 3 on a billet 4 on the bed 1 are detected. The head section of a torch fitted to the carriage 11 moves near to the flaw mark 3. Then, the truck 6 and carriage 11 are moved and the reticle thrown by the projector 27 is made to coincide with the flaw mark 3 and an elevating arm 18 is lowered. A plasma output electric current is set on a controller 46 according to the flaw mark 3 and the flaw is melt scraped off by moving the truck 6 and operating a following-up device 21, blow-off nozzle 25, and plasma torch 24. When the scraping work is completed, the plasma arc is extinguished and the truck moves to the next flaw position with the elevating arm 18 at the lifted position. |
