Hatch closure mechanism for interconnection between a hatch (11) and a hatch surround (10). The hatch closure mechanism includes a hatch connection member (17) connectable to said hatch (11) and a hatch surround connection member (15) connectable to said hatch surround (10). There is also provided an intermediate member (23) interposed between the hatch connection member (17) and the hatch surround connection member (15) which is pivotally attached to both of these members. The intermediate member (23) is associated with biasing means (26) in such a manner that the biasing means (26) may maintain the hatch (11) in either a closed or open position and movement of the hatch (11) from one position to the other is achieved against the bias of the biasing means (26). |
