摘要 The has a light source (2) and photo-electric converter (3) within a housing (1). The light beam is transmitted through a beam-splitter (4) which divides the beam into two parts (5,5') at right angles to one another. The opening optics (6) may be positioned where either of the two beam sections meets the housing wall, i.e. on the end or the side. The beams are reflected by the object under examination or by a reflector (7) on the other side of the area being monitored. A linear or circular polarisation filter (10) connects the transmitted beam section with the section remaining in the housing and suppresses unwanted reflection in the monitored area. The sensor can be modified or adapted for many different applications and is versatile for widespread use.
