DETECTOR FOR MOLTEN STEEL LEVEL IN MOLD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate molten level detector with a quick response by mounting a heat resistant surface area on the side end face of a flat plate body where tips of a plurality of signal lines provided therein the positioned. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of signal lines 2 with an insulated perimeter are incorporated in a flat plate body 1 made of copper alloy in such a manner as to have tips thereof on one side end face thereof 1. A heat and wear resistant surface layer 3 is mounted on the side end face thereof where tips of the signal lines 2 therein 1 are positioned. With such an arrangement, a thermoelectromotive force is generated on the boundary between the flat plate body 1 and the surface layer 3 depending on the temperature on the layer 3 to form a plurality of closed circuits each between the plurality of signal lines 2. Thus, the molten level can be detected by measuring a potential difference generated in each circuit.
