PURPOSE:To provide the titled mold capable of finishing the surface shape of a lens with high accuracy without damaging the outside peripheral edge of the lens, wherein the diameter of one of compression end faces constituting a cavity and the outermost diameter of the cavity opposite to the end face are set within specified range. CONSTITUTION:For example, in a metallic mold comprised of a compression core 2, a holding plate for stroke of the core 2, an upper mold plate 4, a lower mold plate 5, an air cylinder 7 and a PL surface 9, the diameter of the compression end face of the core 2 is set to be equal to or larger than the effective diameter of the lens, the diameter of the cavity opposite to the core 2 side cavity is set to be larger than that of the compression end face of the core 2, and one half of the difference between the diameters of them is set to be equal to the size of an outside peripheral edge part 102 to obtain the onjective metallic mold. After injecting a molten resin into the mold in an injecting step to mold a lens blank 1, the blank 1 is compressed while exposing the edge part 102 of the blank 1 to the atmospheric pressure to obtain a lens with high accuracy. |
