PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of vibration and noise, to reduce running resistance to a large extent and to enhance printing capacity, by providing a running resistance reducing mechanism constituted by arranging a plurality of sheet guide members to a suction surface in a protruded state. CONSTITUTION:An intermittently fed continuous sheet holding apparatus 25 is connected to a suction blower 27 through a suction duct 26 and has a suction surface 28 contacted with the intermittently fed running part of the continuous sheet 1 in opposed relation thereto while minute suction holes 29 are arranged to the suction surface 28 over the entire surface thereof. Further, a plurality of rollers 30 are arranged to the suction surface in a partially protruded and freely rotatable state to support the continuous sheet held in a sucked state and a running resistance reducing mechanism is constituted of the rotating sheet guide members 30 being rollers. The sucking of air is generated from a large number of the suction holes 29 by the suction blower 27 as shown by an arrow and the continuous sheet 1 is contacted with and held on the group of a large number of the sheet guide members 30 so as to be arranged in close vicinity to the suction surface 28 and not only the generation of vibration but also the generation of noise are prevented to enable stable running. The running resistance of the sheet is markedly reduced and the elongation quantity thereof is suppressed to a lower degree and printing shift due to the elongation of the sheet is almost eliminated. |
