Aerostatic guideway for machine parts which can be moved relative to one another

A moving machine part (1) has a guide shoulder (2) which is provided with a rectangular slot (3) which extends in the longitudinal direction of the guideway. In the slot (3) there is a bar (4) of metal with a longitudinal passageway (5) which forms part of an air line of the aerostatic guideway. The bar (4) has holes (14) which are aligned transversely to the longitudinal passageway (5) and into which nozzle bodies (11) are inserted. By virtue of the aerostatic support, one machine part (1) can be moved relative to another machine part, the air supply to the guide surface of one machine part (1) taking place via an air line. Such a design of the guideway has the advantage that it can be designed appropriately for various applications without the need for extensive modifications to its individual elements. <IMAGE>
