PURPOSE:To obtain a waste heat recovery apparatus utilizing a rotary heat exchanger which is corrosion resistant, almost free from clogging, easy to clean, and without leakage, by forming a matrix of material such as glass pipes using a sealing compound, and by feeding and discharging the air through the matrix by a forced fan only. CONSTITUTION:When a heat source is operated, a motor 3 is turned on, and at the same time or a little later, a rotor 3 starts rotating. A forced fan 5 is also turned on at the same time of the heat source to feed the open air. The exhaust gas in high temperature from the heat source is fed into a heat depriving chamber 8 passing through a high-temperature exhaust gas duct 28, and the heat is absorbed from the gas by a matrix 1 while the gas is passing through breather holes. The gas in low temperature is fed into a low-temperature exhaust gas duct and is discharged from a stack 31 into the open air. During that time, the matrix in high temperature is fed into a preheating chamber 7 by the revolution of a rotor 3, and is contacted with the open air in low temperature being forced into the chamber 7 from an open air inlet port 9 by the forced fan 5. The matrix preheats the open air. The preheated air is fed back into the heat source passing through a preheated air feed duct 27. |
