PURPOSE:To prevent an improper cut piece from mixing in a product, by removing the improper cut piece of a wire rod produced to its terminal when the wire rod is cut by a cutting and heading device using a header or the like. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod 16 is fed by a feed mechanism 8 till it is adapted to a stopper 14 and the wire rod is cut into a work piece in size a=l by a cutter 11. A final end detection signal Sd of residual dimension Lx=L-l of the wire rod 16 is input to a control circuit 26. The circuit 26 has an arithmetic unit containing CPU, ROM, etc. and calculates a number of the pieces in size (a), that is, lwhich can be taken from the residual part Lx of the wire rod. Thereafter, a new wire rod 16' follows the residual wire rod, and a cutting mechanism 13 is operated by a number of times, in which the work piece (a) of the wire rod 16 can be formed, and then an improper work piece is removed. |
