PURPOSE:To simplify a recorder and reduce consumption of electric paper, by a method wherein a relative velocity is given to an ink carrier and a solid ink while maintaining them in contact with each other under a fixed pressure so that the solid ink is applied to the ink carrier to form an ink layer. CONSTITUTION:The ink carrier 11 is moved by rotating a rotatable roller 14 or 14', and the solid ink 12 is shaved off at a cutting part 19 and is applied to the ink carrier 11 at normal temperature. The solid ink thus applied is smoothed by a smoothing roller 13 at a smoothing part 20. The ink layer thus smoothed is moved as a solid layer, and parts thereof corresponding to heating dots are melted by a thermal head 15 provided at a small distance from the ink carrier 11. The ink layer having the dot parts melted is directly brought to a transfer part 18 by a movement of the ink carrier 11, and the melted ink is transferred onto a recording paper 16. |
