PURPOSE:To enable the unattended operation of a gas cutter and to lessen manpower by detecting defective cutting in the process of gas cutting and performing recutting automatically. CONSTITUTION:A detector for defective cutting is provided, and when defective cutting is detected from a material 1 to be cut in the process of cutting, a torch 2 is retreated automatically to a normal cutting part, and the material is cut again. If the uncut part remains in the ingot 1, a recess C' is formed, and a large amt. of the gas supplied from a torch 2 cannot penetrate downward and is blown upward along the recess C', by which an abnormal oscillation is generated in the torch 2. A difference between the abnormal oscillation condition and the oscillation condition in the stage of normal cutting is measured, whereby the defective cutting is detected. |
