PURPOSE:To ensure a smooth running, by increasing a gear ratio according to a function composed of temperature of cooling water for engine, a stepping volume of an accelerating pedal, and a car speed when the temperature of cooling water for an engine is low. CONSTITUTION:In case temperature TW of cooling water for an engine is lower than a given value TW0, an actual throttle opening TH is smaller than a corrected throttle opening CTH, and based on the corrected throttle opening CTH, a reference is made on a shift pattern A. Each shift patterns D, L, and R is set so that, a larger gear ratio may be obtained as the throttle opening increases subject to an identical car speed. Thereby, in case the temperature of cooling water for an engine is low and a throttle opening is below a given value, a high gear ratio is obtained corresponding to said condition. This causes increasing of the number of revolutions of an engine, resulting in elimination of vibration created due to a poor running condition of an engine, shortage of a power, and the like occurring at the start of an engine. |
