PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive Li-ionic conductor of an LiF-base mixed crystal giving a thin solid film with high Li-ionic conductivity, by using at least 1 kind of tervalent metallic fluoride and LiF or by further adding NaF. CONSTITUTION:The fluoride of a tervalent metal such as Ti, V, Cr, Fe, Sc or Al and LiF are weighed optionally together with NaF, and they are mixed to prepare a composition consisting of 0.5-20mol% tervalent metallic fluoride and the balance LiF or LiF contg. <=30mol% NaF. The composition is heated to about 800 deg.C and vacuum-deposited on a substrate to form a thin film of an Li- ionic conductor of an LiF-base mixed crystal. The conductor is suitable for use as an entirely solid electrochromic display element. |
