The hooves of riding and working horses must be shod at regular intervals with shoes which are intended in particular to prevent the excessive wear of the hoof on hard ground. The life of such horseshoes is considerably increased and moreover the comfort is improved by the shoes being of multipart design, consisting preferably of a number of sections which are designed in a bent manner corresponding to the hoof and are arranged at a distance from one another and vulcanised into a wear-resistant, flexible horseshoe-shaped plastic ring. Bores or weak points can be provided in the sections, via which nailing or screwing the horseshoes on the hoof is possible. <IMAGE>
