PURPOSE:To facilitate manual rotational operation of a paper roll cutting device composed of a stationary and a rotary cutter by providing the rotary one with possibility to turn in a single direction manually with the aid of operation of a knob and by releasing lock against revolutions by a cam arrangement. CONSTITUTION:When sheets are being fed, a spring clutch 16 is rotated only at its input side 17 driven by a motor 11 while a rotary cutter 10 remains out of rotation. When thereafter a paper feed signal actuates energization of a solenoid 23 to once separate a ratch 21 from a pawl 20, the output side 19 is also rotated through a spring 18, and the rotary cutter 10 is rotated in the same direction through a connecting shaft 23, a cam 24 and a minor diameter shaft 25. The paper roll is cut into specific lengths by one turn of this rotary cutter 10. In case, on the other hand, the marginal part at the leading edge of paper roll is to be cut away manually at the time of roll refillment, the rotary cutter 10 shall be rotated in the direction A by holding a knob 27, when a unit of action of the rotary cutter 10 will be sensed through engagement of the recessed part 31 of the cam 24 with its projected part 32. |
