PURPOSE:To manage a developing soln. correctly, by developing a control strip given patterns different in line density, and measuring average photographic density at the part of a prescribed line density. CONSTITUTION:Plural inclined lines 2 each have a prescribed width and the same interval as the width between the two adjacent lines and both widths and intervals gradually become thinner as they go farther in the right direction, with the widths and intervals maintained equal to each other. The lines 2 are exposed to the same intensity light. In the graph, numerals on the horizontal axis (vertical on this paper) express the densities of the inclined lines 2 shown above, or resolution (number of lines/mm.<2>). When the control strip is developed in prescribed conditions, each fog 3 produced on both side of each line 2 is equal in the extent of fog, but as the density of the lines 2 become higher, discrimination of the two adjacent lines 2 becomes impossible, and average photographic density rises. The developing soln. can be correctly managed by measuring the discrimination limit of the lines 2 or the average photographic density at the prescribed position, and obtaining this result digially by the numerals in the control strip 1. |
